Students from Russia, Norway and Sweden shared their journalistic experience

This Monday, on the 3rd of October, School of Journalism and Mass Communications hosted a joint international seminar on cross-cultural communication, journalism and environmental issues.

Students of the SPbU and Volda University College (Norway), and young journalists from Sweden took part in the tripartite workshop, the aim of which was an exchange of professional experience. Major professional topics were brought up, such as the level of trust of the audience to the media, especially creation of materials on the topic of ecology in the Northern European regions and Russia, etc. The seminar programme was rich: the presentation slides demonstrated cultural features of St. Petersburg and Russia, the inherent features of Sweden journalism, history of development and the basic characteristics of media systems in Russia. At the end of the meeting those present exchanged their contacts and discussed the prospects of cooperation.

The seminar was also attended by the students of the English-speaking Master's degree programme 'Global Communication and International Journalism', by the representatives of the SpbU 'International Relations' programme, by the professors and lecturers of the SPbU and Free University of Berlin.
